Fall is Finally Here!!!

The weather has cooled off some FINALLY! We have been enjoying warms days and cooler evenings. I love fall so much here in Utah. I just hope we keep having this amazing weather. We have been having non stop fun lately (when not at work).

I had Friday off a couple weeks ago and thought it would be a great chance for Brooklyn and I to go to our first Swiss Days in Midway. I love the drive up there and Brooklyn napped like a champ for me. We got up there and it was BUSY. Like I had NO IDEA how crazy it was going to be. I finally found a random spot to park, got the stroller, diaper bag, and baby out of the car and hiked in to the main event. It was so packed. I seriously could not believe it. I HATE CROWDS. I especially hate crowds with a stroller and no help. We worked our way around the different booths and I tried to look, but couldn't really see anything. We got a scone which was amazing!!! Best part of the whole trip. Then it seems like everyone was eating so we rushed around to the booths we had wanted to see. We stopped at a cute booth with a grandpa and grandma. They were making wooden toys for kids and I couldn't pass them up. It totally reminded me of my grandpa, so we bought a wooden duck. We called it a day and left the craziness. I'm not sure I'll be going back any time soon, especially by myself! But I did get a cute temple sign for the house so that's a plus.
I like to think Brooklyn is saying, "You made me drive up here for a duck?"
Brooklyn is getting so much better with solids! She loves picking stuff up on her own, but still likes us to feed her too. Here she is eating a yummy muffin and trying to shove the whole thing into her mouth.
Mark had to go to Taiwan and China for work for a WEEK! That means Mommy and Brooklyn were on our own. I was less worried about taking care of her on my own and more worried about the boredom at night once she went down. We missed him on our Saturday adventure to see some butterflies and going shopping. Luckily modern technology let us talk to him every day, but it just wasn't the same. We missed him big time!
We decided to surprise Daddy with a sign, balloon, and treat. I love that Brooklyn actually colored on the sign for him!
We got there just in time to greet him!
Daddy brought back B her very own outfit and glass monkey (it's the year of the monkey). I also got a beautiful glass lucky tree. Most importantly we got our best friend back!
Cousin Micah let us borrow his wagon to ride around in at his birthday party!
Cheap bread, ducky pajamas, yellow bow, ducks, and daddy! Doesn't get much better!
Two of my students play on a soccer team together. We went and watched. B relaxed in the shade with a bottle of juice most of the time while I enjoyed the game and company.
For YEARS I have wanted to go to Brigham City's Peach Days. It sounds amazing! PEACHES! Mark and I both love peaches. We finally thought this was the year. We got packed up and headed up there for what the GPS said was a 90 minute drive.  Well we hit A LOT of traffic. Brooklyn was ready to get out of the car and there was still more traffic. Once we got there she wanted nothing to do with the stroller or Daddy, so she and I hung out. It was hot and a FAIR. NO PEACHES. I mean we had peach cobbler which was okay, but no peach stands. How can you have peach days with no peaches??? That doesn't make sense. We thought there would be peaches everywhere. We were totally bummed when we didn't see peaches. Luckily we were told if we drove on the main road we could find some peach stands.
Brooklyn was very unlike herself all day and pretty much had this look of disappointment on her face the whole time.
Once we found the peaches she was much happier. She now eats at least half a peach a day! She loves them.
Later that night Grandpa and Grandma had us over for a BBQ and to watch the BYU vs. Utah football game. Grandpa gave lots of kisses and Brooklyn was in heaven playing with him. We are so lucky to have these guys close by.
Mark's grandparents moved 5 minutes away from us with his uncle and aunt so we decided we needed to go visit. They had only seen Brooklyn when she was a baby so they loved having her stop by. I'm so glad that Brooklyn gets to spend time with her Great Grandma and Great Grandpa.

On our landing we have all of Brooklyn's books. She has a ton. There are two shelves that are just board books. I've started letting her play and pull them out and enjoy moving them from spot to spot. I hate the mess, but she gets so happy about it. I hope this playing turns into loving to read.
My sweet girl is 8 months old! She is 15 lbs!!! She has started to crawl/scoot around the room. She doesn't get far, but if there is something she wants she finds a way to get to it. She loves to give kisses and we catch her giggling to herself often. She has even started doing a silly growl. She brings us so much joy every single day!

We had lunch with Daddy! Brooklyn's hair is so fuzzy and crazy. Mark decided to give her a special hair do that day.

I can't get enough of this happy girl!

Mark loves to sneak in morning hugs and kisses before work. This particular morning she was extra sleepy, but he picked her up and snuggled her for a little bit. He even laid her back down without her waking up. I love watching him love our baby girl.

Mark and I realized we hadn't been on a date in a really long time. He planned a great day for us. Brooklyn hung out with her grandparents while we got a massage, Bahama Bucks, and went to the movies. It was nice to just have some us time!
We played later in the backyard at Grandma's house. Brooklyn loves the swing

Brooklyn ready for church! I love when she sits all proper and holds her hands together.

With the leaves changing colors up the canyon we decided to do some more 8 month pictures with the fall leaves. Brooklyn loved the leaves and tried to eat them multiple times.

I'm pretty sure she is the cutest baby! She was all business up Bell Canyon, but turned smiley up Little Cottonwood Canyon. Mark got some great pictures of her.

This video cracks me up! She has started growling and will growl any time you growl at her. She seriously has the best personality!

We can't wait to keep enjoying fall!

School is back in Session

School is back in session and that means a new schedule for B and I. I'm so lucky she is such a good baby and can go with the flow. I'm having a much harder time with the schedule than she is. I'm so grateful that I get to stay home with her part time though. I cherish our fun mornings and evenings together so much. I'm trying to make the most out of every day with her.

This little girl LOVES her Daddy. She knows the sound of the front door opening and gets to excited to see her Daddy walk through the door. We got a little impatient one day and waited outside for him. She watched every single car go by and gave him the biggest smile when he walked up.
Our little girl is such a good sleeper. Every night I go sneak in and rub her little head and say I love you. Lately she has been holding her own hand while she sleeps and it's so sweet. Mark and I couldn't miss out a photo opportunity. I held a flashlight above her while he snapped some pictures.
 7 months- about 14 lbs.
Little, but full of personality!
B got her first cold a week ago. I hated seeing her with a stuffy/ runny nose, but she handled it like a champ! It was Bring your own cup day at 7-11 so we got slurpees and walked around the lake in search of ducks. As always, she was all smiles.
Baby fingers, holding mama's hand.... I love her!
She is getting pretty good at holding her own bottle. I laugh though because this bottle is almost bigger than her!
She is getting better at being on her tummy and has started reaching and scooting for things around her. Once she starts crawling we are in for trouble!
B and I went and fed the ducks the other night. She loves ducks so much and was thrilled to see so many of them at the lake. Plus check out her fuzzy hair! I'm in love with it even though half the time she has crazy bed head.
B use to sleep in until 8. Now she is getting up around 7:15. While she nurses she usually falls asleep and takes a little cat nap on me. I worry a little bit she is forming a bad habit, but I LOVE these morning snuggles. It is easily the best part of my day.
 That smiles just melts me
Aunt Cami got B this awesome old school phone when she was born. It was a favorite toy of ours as kids and she is obsessed with it now! I think this will be what gets her to crawl!

I'm sad summer is over, but I can't wait to celebrate Fall with this cutie!

Doesn't get better than SUMMER!

I'm dreading summer coming to an end because I have enjoyed every single minute with my little best friend. We have grown quite attached to each other.

Sometimes you just need to snuggle.
Pool date with Ellie and Max!
It cracks me up that she does use her pacifier how it's suppose to be. She just loves to chew on it! She also had her 6 month check up and shots. Shots so far have been pretty easy for us. Thank goodness. I'm hoping teething is the same way. Ha ha

13 lbs 15 oz
25 inches
TINY BABY, but growing healthy and strong
We spent one Saturday downtown. We couldn't skip the Cheesecake Factory on Half off day! B really wanted a taste, but Daddy just teased her with a bite.
Church History Museum for the win! It was really cool. I couldn't believe how many awesome things they had. I was really glad we went and know that we will be going back again soon!
Sundays are hard on all of us. B's longest nap falls right in the middle of church. If we were at home it would be 2 hours. At church it's 30 minutes and only if it's quiet. Mark usually ends up in the hall during Sunday school rocking and snuggling. I caught them both napping a couple weeks ago.
Brooklyn and I stopped by Wheeler Farm. I had never been, but heard there were animals. We spent most our time in the shade (I hate Utah summer heat) looking at the geese. As you can tell by her expression they were pretty great.
I've jumped on the bow making train. It started with me not being able to find a 4th of July bow I liked so I tried making one. I since have done a few new tutorials and have gotten pretty good at the bows. I'm still working on perfecting it though. Lucky for me I have a great stash of fabric to practice on! This is seriously why I never throw away scraps!
Brooklyn has gotten VERY good at kisses. If you kiss her and ask for kisses she will often give them back. I think it's pretty dang cute.
We haven't gotten the snakes out much around Brooklyn, but Mark wanted her to see Mackey the other day. She was so excited by it. She kept wanting to hold it and grab at him.

Mark's work does a Lagoon and day and we invited Camden to come out to go with us. Grandma and Grandpa drove out with him and were nice enough to watch Brooklyn for us so we could enjoy.
We also went to Dripping Rock in Spanish Fork which was awesome. Super quick walk and then a great place to hang out and cool off.
My little monkey enjoying her bottle.
We stopped by the Provo City Center Temple as well. It is such a beautiful spot. Loved sharing it with the family.
Camden had a good time hanging out with B in the water. They are best buddies!
First time on a slide and I think it was a success!

We wish the whole crew could have come and that everyone could stay longer. We can't wait to visit again though!

Brooklyn just started making this face ALL. THE. TIME! It's so funny. Sometimes she will do a sniffing noise with it, but other times she will give you this mean mug look.
B watching the Olympics. We are big Michael Phelps fans over here
She was really getting into the games

What mom?
Here is the progression of the mean muggin' face
Even after sleeping 10 + hours a night she still is sleepy. Often she will eat breakfast and then take a cat nap on my lap for about 15 minutes. Then she wakes up and is a happy camper!
I can't even explain the amount of love I have for her.
Daddy surprised B with her very own ball pit. She loves balls and is always trying to hold on to this small beach ball. He figured this way she wouldn't get upset when a ball got away from her because she would have so many!
Brooklyn testing out the new quilt we made for her cousin coming any day now!
 Mean Muggin' in the bathtub!

Daddy planned a fun day at the zoo for us. We both were excited and were even more excited when Brooklyn loved watching the animals. She would cheer and chat with the animals as they moved in front of her. She got pretty excited.
 Watching the monkey

I was so glad we stopped by to see the giraffes one last time while Brooklyn was awake. She couldn't contain her excitement. I can't wait until we take her back and let her feed them!

I don't know how I got so lucky with these two!

Summer is coming to an end with me starting back to work this week. We will just have to make the most of our weekend adventures!
